Dyson Corporation is a leading U.S. manufacturer of large specialty fasteners and forgings used across major industries, including heavy construction, infrastructure, power generation, renewable energy, marine and military, locks and dams, mining, oil and gas, bridge projects, and general distribution.
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to support our production operations. This role is responsible for safely transporting, organizing, and documenting materials, supplies, and finished products throughout the facility. The Material Handler plays a key role in maintaining workflow efficiency and supporting on time manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, distribute, and store incoming materials in assigned locations.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of material movement and transactions.
- Inspect materials and review related documentation for accuracy and quality.
- Review job travelers or special instructions and expedite materials as needed to support manufacturing schedules.
- Transport materials, supplies, and finished goods manually or using material handling equipment.
- Resolve routine issues and collaborate with the Inventory Control Supervisor when questions arise.
- Validate, approve, and forward invoices to the inventory department.
- Dispose of scrap materials and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support department operations.
Safety Requirements:
- Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Maintain awareness around hot metal, heavy machinery, and mobile equipment.
- Inspect tools, dies, forklifts, and PPE before use.
Required qualifications:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or operating production machinery.
- Demonstrated strong verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- High level of attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Solid math skills and clear, professional written communication abilities.
- Proven time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced setting.
Preferred skills:
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material‑handling equipment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP software.
- Understanding of basic manufacturing workflows, production scheduling, or warehouse operations.
- Certification in forklift operation or related material‑handling training.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify and address workflow issues.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting team goals.
